The Agreement

How it works…

Establish your expectations

After completing The Worksheet, you now have a baseline for communication and for setting expectations with your co-parent, allowing you to begin completing The Agreement.

Document your process

The Agreement is where you will document an agreed upon set of terms for custody, scheduling, financial obligations, visitation, and a process for making joint decisions for your child or children.

File your agreement

Advise your local judge that your custom Agreement is in the best interest of your child or children and that both parents agree on the terms. The judge can now issue a court order which incorporates all aspects of your custom Agreement.

The peace of mind gained and substantial cost savings yielded by using The Agreement is almost never achieved in litigation. Check with your local court clerk to obtain information on how to file your Agreement. Finally, you can also use our Agreement to modify, amend, or replace your current child custody agreement that is outdated, or no longer in your child’s best interest.
